Pair of Continental Art Nouveau Style Bisque Porcelain Hanging Plaques — Raised Figures, Birds and Floral Gilt Decoration, Late 19th / Early 20th Century

A charming pair of continental bisque porcelain scallop-shaped hanging plaques featuring finely modelled raised scenes of elegant young ladies in flowing classical dress within stylised garden settings. One plaque depicts a seated lady playing a lyre while her companion stands beside her; the other shows a reclining figure attended by a companion holding a water vessel, with a dove perched nearby.

Both are richly ornamented with applied blossoms, scrolling foliage, and delicate gilt beading, all rendered in soft pastel tones typical of Art Nouveau decorative taste. The relief modelling displays fine detail in drapery, hair, and facial features, set within ornate asymmetrical borders. Likely produced in continental Europe (possibly Austria or Germany) in the late 19th to early 20th century. Condition appears very good with light age-related wear consistent with the display.

Size 35 x 34.5 cm
