Complete Works of William Hogarth, c.1860 – Leather Bound Engravings Volume
Hogarth's Satirical Vision, Bound in Victorian Leather — A Library Statement Piece
Open this volume, and you are looking at Britain through the eyes of its greatest social satirist. William Hogarth — painter, printmaker, and moral commentator — defined an era. This substantial Victorian edition of his Complete Works, published circa 1860 by the London Printing and Publishing Company, brings together approximately 150 finely executed steel engravings after his originals, housed in a binding that is itself a testament to Victorian craftsmanship.
Rich brown leather, ornate gilt tooling to the spine, a firm and structurally sound binding — this is a volume made to be seen as well as read. It belongs equally on the shelves of a serious collector, in the library of a period interior, or on the desk of someone who understands that the right book changes a room.

Condition
Good antique condition for its age. The binding is firm and structurally sound, with minor wear to the edges and spine, consistent with 160+ years of use. Light to moderate foxing throughout the pages, as expected and accepted in works of this period — this is the honest patina of age, not damage. A well-preserved and highly displayable example.
