Rare 1770 London edition of John Milton’s Paradise Lost, illustrated with frontispiece portrait and 12 engraved plates by E. Hayman (all present). 12mo format in contemporary brown leather binding with later spine repair. Early ownership inscriptions include “M. Oldfield” and “A. Frenck (1860)”. A highly collectable Georgian illustrated edition of one of the greatest works of English literature.

This is an original 18th-century book and shows signs of age and use, including wear to the leather binding, surface loss, hinge wear, spine repair, toning and light spotting to some pages, and minor handling marks.
